Konza Prairie nature trail - I rose early this morning, ready to capture the sun rising over the Konza prairie hills. Now I’m ascending the high trail toward the radio tower. The sound of wild turkeys wafts across the grass, but I don’t see them. A movment of deer steals my attention as they travel in line across the crest of the hill. A large stag looks magnificent, antlers silhouetted against the soft pre-dawn sky. Behind him the younger deer scamper from place to place, as children do.
